1. Open an image of your choice, a big landscape image is nice.

  2. CS users

    Image > Adjustments > Shadow/Highlight: Shadows = 100%, Highlights = 0%.

    7 (or below)

    Choose the curves or levels setting to brighten the image.
  3. Now, Filter > Stylize > Find Edges
  4. Now, Edit > Fade Find Edges: Mode: Luminosity, Opacity: To whatever works for you.
