Having trouble listening to sound in Flash while logged into KDE under Ubuntu? I'm here to offer a potential—though temporary—solution to the problem. Apparently, media players seem to be hogging up the audio. Therefore in order for Flash to play audio you have to close the media player that was recently used. Even if the player is no longer playing, if it was active before you opened the browser (specifically Firefox), then the media player is hogging the sound. If closing both the browser and the media player and re-opening the browser doesn't work, log out and log back in and open the browser.
Note the same happens vice versa; if the browser is hogging up the sound, the media player won't emit sound.
